Mya Day

Mya Day is a junior dance major and psychology minor at the University of Alabama. Raised in Owens Cross Roads, AL, at age 15, Mya was awarded the opportunity to train with Joffrey Ballet School as a Jazz and Contemporary Trainee in New York City. At 17, Mya transitioned to Joffrey’s trainee program in Dallas, TX, where she trained with Kaili Bright, Leslie Hale, Thelma Flores, and Giovanni Allen before attending UA’s Dance program. Mya has been a company member in various productions including Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre and The Emerging Choreographers’ Showcase. She has also performed in Greater Giving (a fundraiser for HIV prevention and testing) and The Black Dance Experience. @_myaday
